This is my 1974 Boler.  Over a 3 year period I have completely rebuilt and customized this trailer.  Although the outside looks relatively stock and retro the inside reveals a completely unique custom floor plan; the dinette area was widened by 10” to form a  “U” seating with a large 34″ square table which converts into a true 54” double bed.  The brilliant white kitchen counters feature a full size round corner sink and chrome edging. Appliances include a two burner stove with oven, 3 cu/ft fridge with a hand painted front panel that matches the drawer knobs, There is plenty of storage with 4 large drawers in the front under the window, a large storage cupboard under the wrap around counter, the closet has been moved into the front corner.  The final touch is the built in wine rack which slides sideways to reveal the electric water pump and hot water heater.  Beside the main entry door is a small cabinet with one drawer and a custom tilt out that conveniently holds the portable toilet.

I’ve enjoyed browsing through your Boler Guide. I think it’s well designed and informative. I didn’t find anything quite so comprehensive when I began my restoration project. Please feel free to use any of my pictures in your Guide — they can be found in the blog indicated in the above “website” field.

    Hi Ian

I just love your site! I am from Sweden and am in the progress of restoring and old Ford F100 1956 pickup truck close to its original glory. I am also really interested in camping and have an ordinary camping trailer Knaus from German that I use year around for recreational purpose. My brain has played with the thaughts of importing and old Boler 13´ trailer home to Sweden restore it and update the electrical to 220V and Propane appliances to European standard. The goal it to take the truck and Boler trailer on roadtrips thru South Europe and/or take it up in the North of Sweden/Finland/Norway even maybe North Cap for some recreational fishing trips.

I find your web page very informative.

I want a Boler trailer as the shape of it really match the shape of my old truck. I will keep my eyes open for trailer for sale and trying to figure out how to get it home to Sweden.

If you want you can check out my truck build at: http://dinnerhillspeedshop.blogspot.se/

    No spam I promise 😉

    Thanks again

Hello Jimmy, thank you for your comments.
A Boler would look very sweet behind you truck, which is awesome by the way.
Boler and Scamp are basically the same trailer. To find a used Boler where the selling is willing to negotiate an overseas sale could be challenging, over here they will usually sell within hours of being listed for sale. A better option for you may be to buy a new Scamp 13′, by doing that you could order it without electrical and even without appliances and propane. Basically by a finished base trailer with frame, shell and interior, then you can build it exactly the way you want. Google Scamp Trailers and contact them, pricing may be within your budget and you would be starting off with new components.

        Thanks Ian

Yes I have been looking into the 13` scamp aswell, but the really dont have the same vintage feeling….. I guess its the windows.

Do you know what your standard propane pressure is regulated to? for refrigerator and stove burners?

Here in Sweden (Europe) we have 30mbar or 50 mbar as standard ( that would be 0.4351 or 0.7252 psi)

I will check out the scamp trailer, maybe ask for a quotation?

Hi Jimmy. I am no expert on propane regulators. I do know they are rated here at about 6 ounce (10.5 WC inches) low pressure at the propane source but I am not sure of the conversion for you. Hope that helps

            Thanks Ian

That would translate to about 26 mBar. That falls within the tolerances for 30 mBar system. It more or less means I only need to change the bottle and reducer valve. Then the fridge and burners would work just fine.

I would haveto disconnect annything that is built for 110V as we have 240 V as standard today.

Thanks for all your answeres Ian

We will see what happends the upcomming year. Just maybe a scamp or boler will be heading over the sea.
